Essentially a orange in color, the 1/4 CT Orange is used to warm the light produced by the unit.
The Gels sits in 1 of the 3 slots of the barndoor catch on the light, so you can still have the barndoor and lenses on it while using the hard gel. The Hard Gel is a plus because it is rugged, and doesn't require you to clip it to the light, causing tears and bends like normal gel sheets.
