The rugged, heavy duty, lightweight 3-LITE V 2.0
fills the Chimera front screen, with only one of its three bulbs
switched on, making it a truly soft source. By using GE FCM-HIR 650-watt
bulbs that produce the light of a 1-K, this workhorse of the set can run
on one 20-amp home outlet. Substantially more overall venting is only
one of the many improvements.
New recessed reflectors are wider for better light
distribution and vented to keep the bulb seals cooler for longer life.
A finned socket holder design helps radiate heat away
from the socket and bulb seal area.
Same tall switch guards protecting the new double
pole switches. Switching both the hot and neutral legs provides
another layer of safety when changing bulbs. save time (and your
hands!) by just flipping a switch to change light level. No hot
scrims!
Now when it’s necessary to control light spill by
closing the Chimera top flap, additional vents directly over the
bulbs—combined with taller handle brackets—allow more heat to
escape. For the lamp operator, a wider wooden handle relocated lower and
further out from the body of the fixture.
Now there is an even better steel lock washer
improving the same great lock off strategy with a large easy to grip
handle and a linear bearing to reduce friction when tightening.
Tuck the Chimera side flaps in the convenient holders
to control light spill.
Combined with the Small Quartz Chimera it is only 32
inches deep, and with the medium Quartz Chimera it is only 39 inches
deep.
With the 3-way combo pin, you can use junior or baby
stands or even a grip arm and still pan the light from its third axis.
Front cover protects the safety screen and bulbs when
